Wright Engine #3

Designed by the Wrights and crafted by Charlie Taylor, this is one of the first successful airplane engines constructed which powered the Wright brothers early flying machines. Donated by Orville to the Dayton Engineers Club before his death.

Curtiss OX-5

One of the first reliable mass produced aviation engines, thousands were built through World War I and powered some of the great barnstorming airplanes of the 1920s and 1930s.

Wright Cyclone

One of the great aviation engines of all time, this reliable radial engine powered the B-17 Flying Fortress and the Navy's F4F Wildcat among many others. These rugged engines often returned the warplanes they powered to their bases while suffering extreme battle damage.
